Accounting Supervisor
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team and oversee daily financial operations. As an Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of accountants and ensuring that financial transactions are accurately recorded, processed, and reported in compliance with laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
As an Accounting Supervisor, your duties and responsibilities include:

Overseeing Daily Transactions: Manage accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Participating in Tax Audits and Payroll: Collaborate with tax professionals to prepare and file tax returns, and oversee payroll processing to ensure compliance with regulations.

Preparing Budget Reports: Develop and prepare financial reports and forecasts to support business decision-making, including budgeting reports and revenue forecasts.

Managing Month-End and Year-End Closing: Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.

Monitoring Accounting Department Performance: Monitor accounting department performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Accounting Supervisor vs Accounting Manager
Although Accounting Supervisor and Accounting Manager have similar job titles, there are differences in their roles and responsibilities. Accounting Supervisors typically focus on managing day-to-day accounting operations, while Accounting Managers have broader responsibilities that may include financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and audit management.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven work experience as an Accounting Supervisor
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. FreshBooks and Zoho)
- Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, and using advanced formulas)
- Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws, and regulations
- Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Team management skills
- Ability to prioritize work
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- Accounting certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is a plus.
